There is 1 new case of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases in the community.
Of today’s new case, they arrived from Jordan via Dubai on 26 November and they are now at Auckland’s quarantine facility.
One of the cases today is being added to the total case numbers, who is from the Pakistan Cricket squad reported by the Ministry of Health yesterday. In total, six members have so far tested positive at day 1 testing and one member has tested positive at day 3 of testing.
Serology testing shows that two of the original six positive cases are now considered as historic cases and are no longer infectious.
All 53 members of the squad in managed isolation in Christchurch has had serology tests done, including the usual PCR testing for the virus. A further 11 people returned positive serology results, indicating that they were previous ‘historic infections’.
There are 2 previously reported cases that have now been classed as recovered from COVID-19. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 69.
The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,696. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.
There is no one in the hospital with COVID-19 in New Zealand.
The Ministry has not released any testing data today, we apologise about this.
