There are 10 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on September 5 from Pakistan via the United Arab Emirates. This person completed isolation but received two negative test results during September. Recently this person tested as a pre-travel requirement and returned a weak positive indicative of a historical infection. They are staying at a managed isolation facility in Christchurch.

The second case arrived on January 3 from Japan. This person tested positive at around day 12, and they are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The third case arrived on January 7 from the United States. This person tested positive at around day 7 and was a close contact of another case. They are staying at a managed isolation facility in Christchurch.

The fourth case arrived on January 9 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 1 and was a close contact of another case. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The fifth case arrived on January 10 from Scottland via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 5 as symptomatic. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The sixth case arrived on January 12 from the United Arab Emirates via Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 3. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The seventh case arrived on January 12. However, their travel details are yet to be determined. This person tested positive at around day 3. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The eighth case arrived on January 14 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 0/1. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The ninth case arrived on January 14 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 1. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The tenth case arrived on January 14 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 1 and was a close contact of another case. They also had symptoms. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

4 previously reported cases of COVID-19 has now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 82.

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,900. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,463,890.

On Friday there were 3,325 tests processed and yesterday there were 3,488 tests processed.

There are now 2,446,396 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 154,086,831 poster scans. There have also been 6,226,200 manual diary entries recorded so far.
