There are 10 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation, none in the community.

The first new case arrived on March 6 from India via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive on day 12 routine testing and is staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The second and third new cases arrived on March 13 from India via the United Arab Emirates. They both tested positive on day 3 routine testing and are staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The fourth new case arrived on March 15 from the United States. This person tested positive on day 1 routine testing and is staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The fifth and sixth new cases arrived on March 16 from Pakistan via the United Arab Emirates. They both tested positive on day 0 routine testing and are staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland. *These two cases travelled together.

The seventh and eighth new cases arrived on March 16 from India via the United Arab Emirates. They both tested positive on day 0 routine testing and are staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The ninth new case arrived on March 17 from Papua New Guinea via Australia. This person tested positive on day 1 routine testing and is staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The tenth new case arrived on January 24 from Portugal via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive on day 0 routine testing and is staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland. *This case was reported to have a high CT and is now under investigation. They have been reported as confirmed but now recovered.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 55. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 2,088. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,840,473.

On Wednesday 5,641 tests were processed. The seven-day rolling average for tests that have been processed up to yesterday is now at 4,581.

There are now 2,756,337 users registered on the NZ COVID Tracer app.

The app has recorded a total of 225,515,460 poster scans. There have also been 8,615,654 manual diary entries recorded so far.
