There are 10 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on December 4 from the Netherlands via Singapore, and this person tested positive at routine day 12 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The second case arrived on December 5 from Italy via the United Arab Emirates, and this person tested positive at routine day 12 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The third and fourth cases arrived on December 10 from the United States; they both tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The fifth and sixth cases arrived on December 12 from India via the United Arab Emirates separately, they both tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The seventh case arrived on December 13 from Germany via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia, and this person tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The eighth case arrived on December 13 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates, and this person tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The ninth case arrived on December 13 from the United Kingdom, and this person tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The tenth case arrived on December 13. Travel information for this person is still being confirmed. This person tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

Two previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 51. 

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,754. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,363,124.

There are now 2,411,500 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 140,520,061 poster scans. There have also been 5,660,465 manual diary entries recorded so far.
