There are 11 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

One of the cases in today's numbers is reported as historical. This person arrived on December 24 from Canada via the United States. This person tested positive at routine day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The first case arrived on December 24 from the United State. This person tested positive at around day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The second case arrived on December 26 from the  United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 2 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The third case arrived on December 26 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The fourth case arrived on December 26 from the Netherlands via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The fifth case arrived on December 27 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. One person was tested on arrival due to being symptomatic. This person tested positive at around day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The sixth case arrived on December 27 from India via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 2 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The seventh case arrived on December 27; however, their travel history is still being confirmed. This person tested positive at around day 3 testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The eighth case arrived on December 29 from the United Kingdom via Qatar and Australia. This person tested positive on day one due to being in close contact from a known case of COVID-19. They are staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The ninth, tenth and eleventh cases who all travelled separately arrived on December 27 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. One person was tested on arrival due to being symptomatic. Two cases tested positive at day 3 testing. They are all staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.

5 previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 55. 

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,806. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,405,854.

There are now 2,425,100 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 146,221,271 poster scans. There have also been 5,897,049 manual diary entries recorded so far.
