A Facebook post by 1News, with a quote “#BREAKING! We don’t know about you, but we’re feeling 22!” is disrespecting the families that had unfortunately lost a loved one due to COVID-19.
Sam Hudson, the CEO of thisquality said: “It is disrespectful to the families involved, and how they can get away with a sneaky lyric, refers to the 22 Coronavirus deaths in New Zealand.”
The reference to the song lyrics on the Facebook post celebrating the 22nd constructive day without cases was linked to the 22 Coronavirus deaths in New Zealand.
“If the families affected seen what was written, I bet they wouldn’t be happy with the media mocking someone. The people that passed away were loved by their families. Adding song lyrics to an excerpt of a Facebook post promoting no new cases on the 22nd constructive day when there are 22 total deaths.”
This is childish and immature to make fun of and is abuse of the loss of life by using song lyrics,” said the CEO of thisquality, Sam Hudson.
Recently the media have been over-hyping the whole pandemic since New Zealand is most certainly the only country in the world that has freedom without worrying about a virus or being in lockdown.
The left-wing media are creating excitement for the country and hype promoting articles that go along the lines of New Zealand marking x.amount of days without any new COVID-19 cases. For the most part, being COVID-19 free isn’t breaking news anymore, the breaking news should be when New Zealand either gets a new case or when the country had just become COVID-19 free.Do you have a story? send newstips to [email protected]
