Police say that a 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to threats recently made towards a Member of Parliament.
The man was arrested without incident at a Lower Hutt property, is later due to appear in Hutt Valley's District Court next week on Thursday.
He will face a charge of threatening to kill Parliament Member Simeon Brown.
“I would like to acknowledge the outstanding work of our staff from both the Criminal Investigation Branch in Counties Manukau, where the original complaint was received and the team in Lower Hutt who located the alleged offender today,” Wellington Field Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darrell Harpur said.
“They worked closely together under urgency to get this result.”
The matter is before the Courts meaning no further information or comments can be given.
