2,846 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today in the community in New Zealand.
Since the start of the pandemic in the country, the total confirmed cases are 35,771. There is currently 18,628 active cases.
There are 36 new community cases in Northland, 1,802 in Auckland, 285 in Waikato, 17 in Tairāwhiti, 86 in Bay of Plenty, 25 in Hawke's Bay, 19 in Lakes, 25 in MidCentral, 26 in Taranaki, 25 in Hutt Valley, 84 in Capital and Coast, 19 in Whanganui, 2 in Wairarapa, 77 in Nelson Marlborough, 105 in Canterbury, 4 in South Canterbury and 206 in Southern districts (or regions). 11 cases were identified at the border.
143 cases are reported as staying in hospital, and one is in ICU. 27 cases are in North Shore, 51 in Middlemore, 50 in Auckland, 5 in Tauranga, 1 in Lakes, 7 in Waikato, 1 in Canterbury and 1 in Tairāwhiti Hospitals.
In the last twenty-four hours, 24,351 tests were processed across the country, while the seven-day rolling average reached 29,036.
So far, there have been 4,016,886 first doses and 3,953,287 second doses administered. 2,197,887 booster doses have also been administered. Yesterday 471 first doses and 981 second doses were administered. 27,770 booster doses were administered.
In the Māori population, there have been 517,930 first doses and 496,135 second doses administered. 182,986 booster doses were administered.
