Fifty-two pups were saved from ending up in China's dog meat trade markets.
Had the dogs not been saved, they would have ended up being killed for consumption in the Chinese meat market industry.
The dogs arrived in the Big Apple to be homed with forever families after landing on a plane Friday morning at JFK Airport in New York City.
They were purchased over by No Dogs Left Behind, a rescue organisation that runs a Beijing shelter.
More dogs are to be saved in the weeks to come.
