There are 6 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on December 8, from South Africa. They tested positive at around day 12 of routine testing, they have been transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The Second case arrived on December 8 from Australia. They tested positive at around day 12 of routine testing, they have also been transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The third case arrived on December 10 from the United States. They tested positive at around day 7 of routine testing. They were a close contact of an existing case, and that is why they got tested. They are now in a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The fourth case arrived on December 15 from the Netherlands, via Qatar and Austalia. They tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing. They have been transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

One case arrived on December 15 from the Netherlands via Qatar and Australia. They tested positive at routine day 3 testing, and they were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The final case, the sixth, arrived on December 15 from South Africa. They tested positive at routine day 3 testing, and they were also transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

Two previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 55. 

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,760. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,371,889.

There are now 2,413,200 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 141,573,848 poster scans. There have also been 5,702,738 manual diary entries recorded so far.
