There are 6 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on December 26 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 24 and was a close contact of another case reported on December 31 within a travel bubble. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The second case arrived on December 29 from the United Kingdom. This person tested positive at day 12. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The third case arrived on January 9 from the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at day 9. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The fourth case arrived on January 9, however, travel details are yet to be determined. This person tested positive at day 9. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The fifth case arrived on January 14 from the United States. This person tested positive at day 3. They are staying in Auckland’s managed isolation facility.

The sixth case arrived on December 18 from Russia via Singapore. This person tested positive at day 0 in transit. The location of this person was not given to thisquality via the Ministry of Health, however, they are part of an international fishing crew which left New Zealand via ship on December 18.

“The previous history of overseas COVID-19 like illness in family members and a weak positive test resulted in a clinical assessment it is a historical case,” said the Ministry.

14 previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 76.

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,911. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,472,326.

On Tuesday there were 4,451 tests processed. The seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 3,447 tests.

There are now 2,453,070 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 155,876,751 poster scans. There have also been 6,299,397 manual diary entries recorded so far.
