There are 6 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.
The first case arrived on December 3 from the United Arab Emirates via Australia. They tested positive for COVID-19 at routine day 3 testing and have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.
The second case arrived on December 3 from Hungary via Germany and Qatar. They tested positive for COVID-19 at routine day 3 testing and have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.
The third case arrived on December 1 from the United Kingdom via Qatar and Australia. They were retested following an ‘inconclusive’ result from routine testing for COVID-19 at routine day 3 testing. They have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.
The fourth case arrived on December 1 Sweeden via Qatar and Australia. They tested positive for COVID-19 at routine day 3 testing and have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.
The fifth case arrived on December 3 from the United Kingdom via Singapore. They tested positive for COVID-19 at routine day 3 testing and have been transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility.
The sixth case arrived on December 5 from Turkey via Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. They tested positive for COVID-19 at routine day 2 testing.
There is 8 previously reported case that has now been classed as recovered from COVID-19. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now 54.
The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,729. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.
There is no one in the hospital with COVID-19 in New Zealand.
Laboratories yesterday processed 2,894 tests for COVID-19 which brings the total number of tests that have been completed to date to 1,315,201.
There are now 2,395,700 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app.
The app has recorded a total of 134,805,371 poster scans. There have also been 5,426,138 manual diary entries recorded so far.
