There are 7 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on December 14 from the United States. This person tested positive at routine day 12 testing and was transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The second case arrived on December 22 from India. They tested positive at routine day 6 testing and was a close contact of a previously reported case. They were transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The third and fourth cases, travelling separately, arrived on December 24 from India via the United Arab Emirates. They both tested positive at routine day 3 testing. They were both transferred to Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The fifth case arrived on December 24 from the United States. This person tested positive at routine day 3 testing and was transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The sixth case arrived on December 25 from London via Singapore. This person tested positive on day 2 as they were symptomatic, this person is currently at Auckland’s quarantine facility.

The seventh case arrived on December 28 from the United States. This person tested positive on day 1 as they were symptomatic, this person is currently at Auckland’s quarantine facility.

8 previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 49. 

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,795. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,398,932.

There are now 2,422,800 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 145,323,663 poster scans. There have also been 5,859,983 manual diary entries recorded so far.
