7 new cases of COVID-19 in managed isolation in last two days

There are 7 new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation. There are no new cases reported in the community.

The first case arrived on December 13 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates. They tested positive following symptoms related to COVID-19 and were transferred to Auckland's quarantine facility.

The second case arrived on December 15 from the United States. They tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing, and they were transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The third case arrived on December 15 from the Czech Republic via the United Arab Emirates. They tested positive at around day 6 of routine testing and they have been transferred to Auckland's quarantine facility.

The fourth case arrived on December 17 from the United States. They tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing, and they have been transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The fifth case arrived on December 17 from the United States. They tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing, and they have been transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

The sixth case arrived on December 17 from the United Kingdom via Qatar. They tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing, and they have been transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch.

An additional case arrived on December 14 from the United States. They tested positive at routine day 3 testing and were transferred to a quarantine facility in Christchurch. Information has found that this was a historical case and it is not included in the total number of active cases reported.

17 previously reported cases of COVID-19 have now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 49. 

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,772. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,381,545.

There are now 2,416,600 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 143,262,693 poster scans. There have also been 5,770,373 manual diary entries recorded so far.
