The first case arrived on January 9 from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 13 of routine testing as symptomatic and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The second case arrived on January 9 from the United Kingdom via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 13 of routine testing as symptomatic and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The third case arrived on January 17 from the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 5 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The fourth case arrived on January 18 from the United States. This person tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The fifth case arrived on January 18 from the United States via Hong Kong. This person tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The sixth case arrived on January 19 from Ethiopia via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The seventh case arrived on January 21 from South Africa via Qatar/Brisbane. This person tested positive at around day 0 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The eighth case arrived on January 21 from India via the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia. This person tested positive at around day 0 of routine testing and is staying at a quarantine facility in Auckland.
1 previously reported case of COVID-19 has now recovered. The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now at 79.
The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 1,927. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.
The total number of tests that have been completed to date is 1,487,234.
The seven-day rolling average of tests up to yesterday is 3,335.
There are now 2,459,398 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer app. The app has recorded a total of 158,388,381 poster scans. There have also been 6,393,135 manual diary entries recorded so far.
