JUST IN: All of New Zealand south of Auckland's boundary will move to Alert Level 3 settings at 11.59pm on Tuesday, August 31.

Auckland and Northland will remain under Alert Level 4 settings likely for two more weeks. Northland was included due to a positive worker identified at a rest home facility.

There will be a review of these settings made by Cabinet on Monday, August 30.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in today's 3pm post-cabinet Covid-19 press briefing update.

Seventy new cases of Covid-19 were reported today in the community and none in managed isolation.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand is 384, where 347 cases are currently linked to the community outbreak. Community cases reported in Auckland are now at 333 — Wellington remains at 14.
