Police report that a body of a person was located deceased at a remote beach of Waiheke Island on Monday morning.
They'd responded to a call at around 8.20am indicating the body which was found.
In collaboration with Waiheke Police, specialist search and rescue staff completed a recovery operation in the afternoon.
Earlier in the month, it was reported that 73-year-old Erno Bedo went missing on May 23 in the Oneroa Bay area.
The matter was referred to the Coroner, and formal identification is underway.
Police will be giving no further comments at this time.
