A man's body was located from a light aircraft crash overnight following a search and rescue in Central Otago.
The RCCNZ was notified that an emergency beacon alert was conducted from a private light aircraft at about 5.30 pm yesterday.
Search and rescue volunteers located the aircraft at around 4am this morning on Old Man Range near Alexandra.
The man was located deceased at the scene, and work was underway to recover the body.
The Civil Aviation Authority was advised.
