A magnitude 3.7 Earthquake shook Canterbury early Wednesday morning at around 12:35 am.
The earthquake was located 5km east of Christchurch and had a depth of 11km according to Geonet.
The shaking intensity was moderate.
Over 7,800 people have reported feeling the shake.
