Emergency services responded to a crash involving a car and truck near Levin.

The crash happened at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Waitarere Beach Road at around 4:55 pm.

One person was reported as seriously injured. They were airlifted by helicopter to hospital.

Traffic was diverted down Koputaroa Road.

The Serious Crash Unit was notified about the crash.
