At around 5:50 pm a car crashed into the barriers in the right-hand northbound lane north of the Aotea Quay on-ramp on the Wellington Urban Motorway.
The right-hand lane going northbound was blocked, the other two lanes remained open.
Traffic delays were in place while the car was removed.
An ambulance was on the scene including a police vehicle.
The crash was cleared shortly after twenty-past six, all lanes re-opened to traffic.
It happens to be the heaviest evening peak for the year with traffic on the highway according to NZTA Wgtn (New Zealand Transport Agency – Wellington) — you can read more about that by clicking here.
