Emergency services responded to reports of a crash that occurred near Ōtaki Beach on Thursday evening.
The crash happened at around 6.30pm on Rangiuru Road, involving a white Suzuki Swift crashing into a power pole.
One Fire and Emergency unit, St John Ambulance and two Police vehicles attended the scene.
Police did not confirm to thisquality how the crash happened or how many people were involved.
No injuries were reported from the crash.
“There don’t appear to have been any injuries,” a Police spokesperson said to thisquality.
The power pole did not fall but sustained significant cracks and a dent as a result of the car smashing into it, causing a lean.
Electra was at the scene to assess the power pole and lines.
Around two hundred and fifteen households were affected and without power for some time throughout the night.
Traffic control was put in place at around 8.05pm, reducing Rangiuru Road to one lane at the crash site.
