The Ministry of Social Development in Christchurch was put under lockdown over a threat on Tuesday morning.
The Linwood office was locked down due to mental health-related issues, a spokeswoman said, according to reports from NZ Herald.
Regional commissioner for MSD Dianne McDermott says: “The safety of our clients and staff remains our top priority. ” — she was unable to comment further as police now lead the investigation.
