Christchurch’s Port Hills fire put under investigation

Police are putting Christchurch's four vegetation fires in Port Hills under investigation.

Three of the fires were on Summit Rd, and one was on Governors Bay Rd.

The fires happened during the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 9 December.

Police are asking for anyone who has information to come forward.

Emergency services were alerted to fires in the area at around midnight after reports that a flare was set off and seen.

If anyone in the area seen anything suspicious between midnight and 2am is being asked to contact police by phoning 105 and quoting file number 201209/8549.

If anyone would like to report the information anonymously, they should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
