8 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today in the community, while 3 have been identified at the border. One historical case has also been included in today's report.

The total confirmed cases are 3,838  since the start of the pandemic in the country.

Total community cases reported in Auckland are now at 1,168 (965 have recovered), this includes 4 in Upper Whakatīwai — Wellington remains at 17 (all have recovered).

Out of this cluster, 1,156 have been identified as epi-linked to another case or sub-cluster, with 7 being reported as unlinked or not yet epi-linked over the last fortnight.

14 cases are reported as staying in hospital, 3 are in ICU. Two cases are in North Shore Hospital, six are in Middlemore Hospital and six are in Auckland City Hospital.

New cases in MIQ:
The first case arrived on September 14from the United Kingdom via United Arab Emiratestesting positive on day 12 of routine testing and is staying in an Auckland managed isolation/quarantine facility.
 The second case arrived on September 21from Russia via United Arab Emiratestesting positive on day 3 of routine testing, is a close contact of a case and is staying in an Auckland managed isolation/quarantine facility.
The third case arrived on September 25from Singaporetesting positive on day 1 of routine testing and is staying in an Auckland managed isolation/quarantine facility.
A historical case reported today arrived on September 22from Cambodia via Singaporetesting positive on day 3 of routine testing and is staying in an Christchurch managed isolation/quarantine facility.

Testing numbers:
Laboratories have processed a total of 3,346,490 tests to date.

In the last twenty-four hours, 9,955 tests were processed across the country, while the seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is at 13,929.

COVID Tracer statistics:
On the NZ COVID Tracer app, 3,257,830 users are now registered, recording a total of 390,291,961 poster scans.

There have been 17,154,738 manual diary entries done so far.

In the last 24 hours to midday yesterday, 1,527,097 scans were processed.

Vaccine statistics:
So far there's been a total of 5,087,231 administered. Out of this, 3,252,825first doses and 1,834,406 second doses have been administered across the country.

Yesterday 12,641 first doses and 28,065 second doses were administered.
