The Ministry of Health confirmed to thisquality in a press statement Friday afternoon that a rest home facility in Auckland has been listed as an exposure site.
Amberlea Rest Home in Algies Bay was pinged as the site of exposure to the virus.
This is due to a positive staff worker working at the facility. Reports indicate they'd worked in the dementia ward.
Health officials say the staff member worked for two shifts while being infectious.
They are fully vaccinated and followed strict infection and prevention control protocols such as wearing a face mask and PPE gear.
A mobile testing unit was set up at the facility to begin testing residents at the site.
