173 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today in the community. Out of this, 163 were identified in Auckland, 7 in Waikato, 2 in Northland and 1 in Lakes District. One new case has been reported at the border.
Since the start of the pandemic in the country, the total confirmed cases reported are 8,504.
Total community cases reported in Auckland is now 5,429 (2,001 have recovered), 239 in Waikato (85 have recovered), 46 in Northland (15 have recovered), 6 in Lakes District, 6 in Taranaki, 2 in MiedCentral, Canterbury 4 (3 have recovered), 1 in Nelson/Marlborough who has recovered — Wellington remains at 17 (all have recovered).
Out of this cluster, 4,426 have been identified as epi-linked to another case or sub-cluster, with 861 reported as unlinked or not yet epi-linked over the last fortnight.
90 cases are reported as staying in hospital, seven are in ICU. Ninety cases are in North Shore Hospital, twenty-one in Middlemore Hospital, thirty-nine in Auckland City Hospital, 1 in Waikato Hospital, two in Waitakere and one in Whangarei.

Laboratories have processed 4,483,455 tests to date.
In the last twenty-four hours, 24,438 tests were processed across the country, while the seven-day rolling average has reached 26,473.

Vaccine statistics:
So far, there have been 7,211,963 doses administered. Out of this, 3,798,124 are first doses, and 3,413,839 are second doses.
In the Mâori population, there have been 785,874 total doses administered around the country. 438,210 are first doses, and 347,664 are second doses.
Yesterday 4,645 first doses and 9,993 second doses were administered.
