79 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported today in the community. Out of this, 75 were identified in Auckland, 8 in Waikato. One new case was reported at the border.

Since the start of the pandemic in the country, the total confirmed cases reported are 5,462.

Total community cases reported in Auckland are now at 2,643 (1,506 have recovered), 91 in Waikato (25 have recovered), 7 in Northland and 1 in Blenheim — Wellington remains at 17 (all have recovered).

Out of this cluster, 2,414 have been identified as epi-linked to another case or sub-cluster, with 281 reported as unlinked or not yet epi-linked over the last fortnight.

37 cases are reported as staying in hospital, 4 are in ICU. Eight cases are in North Shore Hospital, twelve in Middlemore Hospital and seventeen in Auckland City Hospital.

 New cases in MIQ: 
The new case arrived on October 20from Qatar via Australiathis person tested positive on day 3 of routine testing, a close contact of a case and is staying in an Auckland quarantine facility

Testing numbers:
Laboratories have processed 3,962,042 tests to date.

In the last twenty-four hours, 14,430 tests were processed across the country, while the seven-day rolling average has reached 24,578.

COVID Tracer statistics:
On the NZ COVID Tracer app, 3,321,212 users are now registered, recording a total of 455,972,632 poster scans.

There have been 18,963,899 manual diary entries done so far.

In the last 24 hours to midday yesterday, 1,727,625 scans were processed.

Vaccine statistics:
So far, there have been 6,634,258 doses administered. Out of this, 3,646,869 are first doses, and 2,987,389 are second doses.

In the Mâori population, there have been 394,513 first doses, and 277,596 second doses administered.

Yesterday 3,492 first doses and 7,168 second doses were administered.
