There is one new case of COVID-19 to report today in New Zealand. The new case was reported in managed isolation. There are no new cases in the community today.

The one new case tested positive arriving in New Zealand on October 1 from England via Hong Kong. They were transferred to Auckland’s Quarantine facility.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is currently 41, and of those 33 are imported and are in MIQ facilities. 8 are community cases. 

Three previously reported cases are now considered as recovered.

There are no people in hospital for COVID-19 today.

The one new case brings a total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 1,493. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

Laboratories yesterday processed 5,728 tests, bringing the total number of tests that are completed to date to 976,369.
