There is one new case of COVID-19 to report today in New Zealand. The new case was reported in managed isolation. There are no new cases in the community today. 

The new case arrived in Christchurch from the United States on October 3 and tested positive in managed isolation on day 3 of testing.  They are now in quarantine.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is currently 39 – which are all imported cases. There are no active community cases. 


Seven additional cases have recovered today.

There is no one in hospital or on a ward for COVID-19 today.

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases remain at 1,516. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.

Laboratories yesterday processed 3,017 tests, since the new results after duplicates, the revised number of total tests processed to date is at 1,005,807.

There are currently 2,305,781 users registered on NZ COVID Tracer App.

The App has recorded a total of 90,543,583 poster scans so far.

Users have created 3,801,018 manual diary entries in the App.
