A dangerous and reckless driver was caught on dashcam footage, nearly hitting another vehicle north of Foxton on the evening of Friday.
The incident occurred between the intersection of Motuiti Road and Hickford Road at around 5.41pm.
Footage shows a grey vehicle driving westbound on Motuiti Rd too fast, coming to a halt while turning southbound into the intersection of Hickford Rd.

The vehicle can be seen slamming its brakes on with visible smoke coming from the rear end tyres as it crossed over onto the wrong side of the road at the intersection.
Video sent to thisquality by someone who wished to remain anonymous said their wife was travelling back home with kids after getting fish and chips before the incident happened.
“They had just gone in to get fish and chips for tea. It happened on their way back home,” they said.
“Motuiti road used to be 100ks, but then it was changed to 80k — people seem to still go way over one hundred on it.”
It was mentioned that the road is often used for drag strip racing and burnouts.
The family travels on the road daily and sees many dangerous acts of driving happen too often.
“We travel it daily and see all sorts of craziness,” they concluded.
