This weekend, remember to change your clocks forward by one hour as Daylight Savings starts at 2 am on Sunday 27th September.

Daylight savings will continue until Sunday, April 4th 2021, clocks will then have to be changed back by one hour to NZ Standard Time.

During Daylight Savings, the country is on ‘New Zealand daylight time’ meaning it is one hour ahead of New Zealand standard time.

Modern devices like your cellphone can automatically adjust the time. Older devices most likely need to be adjusted manually.

While adjusting clocks and devices, it is a good time to check emergency plans, survival kits and smoke alarms.
