America’s top infectious diseases expert Dr Anthony Fauci has received the COVID-19 vaccination in hopes to fight against the virus and bring immunity to the world one jab at a time.

Fauci rolled his sleeve up to receive the Moderna vaccine dose in hopes Americans can be reassured that the treatment was safe, encouraging others to get it.

His reason for getting the vaccine was ‘twofold’ as he is part of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. He hopes to symbolise the rest of the country that he feels extreme confidence in the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.

“I want to encourage everyone who has the opportunity to get vaccinated so that we can have a veil of protection over this country, that would end this pandemic,” Fauci said.

A thumbs-up sign was given after Fauci received the jab.

Fauci turns 80 on Thursday which has given good spirits for his well-being, confident that the vaccine will protect himself from the virus risks.
