There is eight new cases of COVID-19 to report today in managed isolation and none in the community.
The first and second new cases arrived on April 12 from Pakistan via the United Arab Emirates. They both tested positive as being close contacts of another case at around day 12 of routine testing and are now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The third case arrived on April 22 from Germany via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing and is now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
Reportedly the fourth case arrived on April 22 from the United States. This person tested positive at around day 3 of routine testing and is now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The fifth case arrived on April 23 from Pakistan via Qatar. This person tested positive at around day 1 of routine testing and is now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
Additionally, the sixth case arrived on April 24 from Pakistan via the United Arab Emirates. This person tested positive at around day 0 of routine testing and is now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
Finally, the seventh and eighth new cases arrived on April 15 from Japan. They both tested positive at around day 0 of routine testing and are now staying in a quarantine facility in Auckland.
The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 36 as five have previously recovered. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now at 2,253. This is the number that the Ministry of Health reports to the World Health Organisation.
Laboratories have processed a total of 2,004,818 tests to date. On Monday 2,079 were processed while the seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 3,829.
On the NZ COVID Tracer app, 2,799,440 users are now registered, recording a total of 256,621,661 poster scans. There have also been 9,604,457 manual diary entries done so far.
