A Virginia man was arrested after Capitol Police found him to have an unauthorised inauguration credential pass. He was also armed with 500 rounds of ammo.
The suspect, Wesley Allen Beeler, aged 31, was stopped at a checkpoint near Lower Senate Park at around 6:30 pm.
He allegedly presented an unauthorised inauguration credential pass to a Capitol Police officer at the checkpoint. The document raised suspicion when Beeler handed it over.
Beeler had possession of an unregistered gun and had hundreds of ammunition rounds inside a truck ornamented with gun decals.

According to authorities, his Ford F-150 pickup displayed ‘weapon’ stickers, one reading ‘Assault Life’ — another read ‘If they come for your guns Give ‘Em your bullets first.
A Glock handgun was sitting under an armrest. A larger search of the truck found the nearly 550 rounds amount of ammunition and a loaded clip with 17 rounds.
Beeler was booked on suspicion of carrying a weapon without holding a license, according to court records. He faces gun charges in the District of Columbia.
