Police have located a man that was reported missing on Christmas day. The man went missing between Papamoa and Gisborne on Friday.
The 67-year-old, Gregg Shaw, was located on Sunday afternoon in his car at around 4 pm. He suffered some injuries but was conscious when found.
He crashed down a steep bank on State Highway 2 roughly an hour northbound of Gisborne.
A helicopter was sent out to the scene to transport the man to hospital.
State Highway 2 was temporarily closed between Cemetery Road and Rakauroa Road to allow the helicopter to land.
