New Zealand’s Ministry of Health says they are closely monitoring the current outbreak in Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) region, where numbers of COVID-19 are increasing in the community.
Officials from the Ministry of Health in New Zealand will be monitoring the situation that unfolded. “Ministry officials are in regular contact with Australian officials,” a statement to thisquality reads.
It was reported that New South Wales would be implementing new measures to fight the virus, for aircrew on airlines.
Public health testing in New Zealand has widened due to the risk it could pose on the community if an aircrew member were to suddenly contract the virus and bring it here.
The defence against COVID-19 is playing a key role in protecting the community.
Any aircrew members are required to stay in managed isolation for the duration of their layover while in New Zealand.
