The Ministry of Health confirmed to thisquality that there is another Community Case of COVID-19 identified in Auckland.
This new case follows Auckland’s February cluster as of recent emergence with newly formed cases.
As reports indicate, the new case is a household contact of Cases I, J, K and L.
On February 23, the new case was transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility for precautionary purposes. They became symptomatic yesterday after returning a positive COVID-19 test this afternoon.
Within the infectious period, the person was under quarantine. As a result of the quarantine measure taken, no new locations of interest mean there is no risk to the public.
The Ministry says whole genome sequencing will be undertaken to confirm if there are any links between the new case and other cases within the cluster.
