The man, Martin Suttie, who went fishing in the afternoon at Lake Wakatipu near Benmore Place, was reported missing by their friend who was fishing a short distance from him on Sunday, 12th July.
On Wednesday, the searches for Suttie happened without success; Navy personnel arrived in the area, and a plan was put underway for them to utilize remote operated and autonomous underwater vehicles for Thursday.
Searchers at the area looking for Dunedin man Martin Suttie, recovered his body on Thursday afternoon.

“Police would like to acknowledge all those involved in the search, including the Police National Dive Squad, the New Zealand Navy, LandSAR volunteers, and Dart River Jet staff.”
Police will be looking for anything of interest in the area for further investigation.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
