Paedophile ‘teen groomer’ jailed for four years, five months in Waikato

Police report that a convicted paedophile has been sentenced to four years, five months in prison after appearing in Waikato District Court earlier this week.

Jared Robert Lammas pleaded guilty to six charges of indecent assault with a child under the age of 12, five of sexual juncture with a young person, while another after meeting a young person following sexual grooming.

He’d been sentenced for assaults against three victims between the years 2018 and 2020.


It has been conspired by Police Detective Matthew Lee that there may be more victims across the Hamilton, Whakatane and Tauranga areas.

“The offending may be historical, with the victims likely to have been boys aged 4 -15 years old at the time of the offending,” said Detective Lee.

“Anyone who has information or concerns, and has not yet come forward, is asked to get in touch with Police.”

“We would like to reassure those who come forward that the information they provide us will be treated with sensitivity.”
