The CEO of Parler, John Maze, was dismissed from his position on Wednesday. Matze confirmed the dismissal in a text message according to Reuters.

“On January 29, 2021, the Parler board controlled by Rebekah Mercer decided to immediately terminate my position as CEO of Parler,” said Matze to Parler staff.

“I did not participate in this decision.”

The website has remained offline since the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC.

Parler was founded in 2018 and has classed itself as a ‘free-speech’ social media platform.
