A remote camera was deployed into 300mm pipes at Pike River Mine yesterday.
The camera was successfully deployed into each pipe but it was unable to penetrate rubble and rockfall as each pipe contained extensive damage.
Police said they will not be releasing any images or video from the camera deployment.
The Pike River Recovery Agency and Police have been actively investigating a methane explosion that happened at the mine in 2011, killing 29 men.
