Police are continuing to investigate the unexplained death of a baby at an address in Ōtara that was called in at around 10 am yesterday.
Circumstances surrounding the death of the baby girl are currently being investigated on since Thursday morning and Police have been making a number of enquiries into the baby's death.
A scene examination is still ongoing at an address on Sandbrook Avenue including a post mortem examination that will be carried out later today.
“At this point in the enquiry we are still treating the death as unexplained and we have been speaking to a man from the address as part of the investigation,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Veronica McPherson.
“No charges have been laid at this stage, however, our enquiries are continuing.”
