Police are investigating after a single gunshot was fired at a home in Ōtaki.
The incident happened shortly before 2:15 am this morning in Maire Street.
Nearby neighbours screamed after the gunshot was fired.
“While there were residents present inside the address at the time, nobody was injured,” said a Police spokesperson to thisquality.
“Police are following several positive lines of enquiry. We acknowledge that incidents of this nature are distressing for both those directly involved and the wider community.”
A scene examination was completed in the afternoon.
Anyone who has information or noticed anything suspicious before or after the shot was fired, is asked to contact Police through 105 and quote file number 210327/4235.
