Police can now release the name of a man that was tragically killed in a fatal house fire that happened around 6:50 pm on Tuesday night at Cockle Bay.
His name was Wiremu Arapo, aged 27, of east Auckland.
“We extend our thoughts and sympathies to Wiremu's whānau at this difficult time,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Bolton.

A karakia was performed at the Cockle Bay address yesterday by local Kaumātua.
Police are not treating the fire as suspicious after liaising with Fire and Emergency investigators.
Wiremu's death will be referred to the Coroner.
