Police today have announced to media that they can name the two deceased bodies found near Mere Road in Lake Taupo by a member of the public on October 16 at around 7:15 am.
The name of the two people Trevor Malcolm Wiringi who is aged 50 and Helen Dorothy Smith who is aged 49 from Rotorua.
Police extends its sympathies to their families.
The bodies are not being treated as suspicious.
The deaths have been referred to the Coroner.
