Police respond to ‘suspicious vehicle’ parked on street in Timaru, Canterbury

Police are responded to a ‘suspicious vehicle that was parked on Sefton Street East in Timaru, Canterbury.

Reports were received at around 12.10pm about the vehicle which was of probable concern.

Surrounding premises on Sefton Street East between Theodosia Street and Port Loop Road were evacuated.

Cordons were put in place as a precautionary approach but were stood down at around 1.15pm.

Enquiries into the matter are continuing and Police will be speaking with a person of interest.

The event was resolved without incident.
