Police and emergency services responded to an incident that developed on Walmsley Road overbridge above the Southwestern Motorway in Auckland, Tuesday afternoon.
One person was involved in the incident at around 4.05pm, and it is understood to be concerns surrounding their wellbeing.
Lanes in both directions of the Motorway were closed down near the overbridge as a result. Motorists were advised to take an alternative route where possible at the time.
Waka Kotahi NZTA said in a statement all lanes were reopened at around 4.45pm.
“All lanes are now open on the Southwestern Motorway near the Walmsley Rd overbridge, following an incident,” it said.
“Be prepared for long delays as congestion eases from this incident.”
Traffic was expected to be slow-paced delaying up to an hour.
