Police are seeking information from the public for sightings of Te Ariki Poulgrain after he escaped from custody in Corrections yesterday afternoon in the Auckland region.

Authorities were notified that the 23-year-old prisoner, who was at a medical facility in Grafton for an appointment, escaped at around 1.30pm today.

Corrections are being assisted by Police who are trying to locate him and have been making a number of follow-ups and enquiries to try to find him.

Police want to reassure the community we are doing everything we can to locate him.

He is about 183cm tall and of thin build, is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

He has known links to the Killer Beez gang and was believed to still be wearing a pair of Corrections hand cuffs.

If you see him, please call 111 immediately.
