The old Hegley Street Police Hub that has been assisting locals since the 1960s will be moving to a new location in Porirua. A grand opening is expected.
It is time for an upgrade, a modern station, that will give a better service to the local community. The new Police Hub will be located at 19 Heriot Drive, Porirua.
The official opening will take place from 9-11 am on February 10 where the media and public will get to experience what it is like first hand.
During the grand opening, a temporary Mobile Police Base will be stationed in the carpark across the street until 1 pm when the front counter opens.
Reportedly there will not be any difference in Police service levels during the transition.
On December 4-6 of 2020, Staff moved into the new hub. It was fully operational by the 7th.
